Police said they have arrested a man who allegedly stabbed 67-year-old Jack Baker to death last week.
Police have issued an arrest warrant for Waheed Kesmatyer, 24, who is currently in custody in Marin County Jail on unrelated charges. Kesmatyer is awaiting extradition to San Francisco County Jail.
Baker's body was found on Feb. 11 inside his Nob Hill apartment on the 1000 block of Bush where he lived with Kesmatyer since October 2010, said Officer Eric Chiang. Police called the death “suspicious” until today when they confirmed it was a homicide.
“He was stabbed and there was other trauma,” Chiang said. “We don't know the motive.”
